CAFE receives grant from retired teachers association.

On June 7, 2011, Juan Pablo Liriano, Chair of CAFE and a retired teacher was presented with a cheque for $3,000.00 for the lunch program in Barahona, Dominican Republic from the Retired Teachers of Ontario, Service to Others program. The presentation was made by Tom Jakabfy, committee member of local chapter- Durham District 28.

CAFE extends its whole hearted thanks on behalf of the children of Barahona to both the Service to Others program for the grant and to the local Durham District 28 chapter for their encouragement and for sponsoring the grant application. This grant will go a long way to ensure the lunch program continues providing a nourishing meal to children so that they may learn more effectively.
